Marielena Martinez known as Mari, is the president and founder of The Hotspot Dance and Production Company. Mari was born and raised in Miami and always had a passion for dance. Mari choreographed her first quince with just eighteen years of age with no professional experience and she also choreographed her younger sister’s solo audition for her high school and got accepted. Mari then started training and dancing at local dance studios like Lorraine Florida dance academy, Dance gallery and New Image dance studio. While competing for dance studios Mari was also involved with Miami Dade Wolfson dance team and two years later got accepted into Florida International University’s dance program. Mari then acquired an AA and BA in education from FIU.
Mari’s dance experience not only comes from working with different studios but also from working with numerous artists and dancing for videos which include working with Winsin y Yandel, choreographing dances for los primeros and other start up artists and also featured in a commercial for 98.3. After training in ballet, jazz, hip hop and contemporary for 6 years she then received training in ballroom and Salsa where she found her greatest passion. She teaches Casino classes with her business partner Carlos Ramirez where together they have developed their own syllabus and structure. She also choreographs for major dance teams around Miami like the Miami Heat and UM Sensations. Manages a dance competition team and different level Salsa teams at Hotspot as well. She is the event coordinator for the kids program in Orlando Salsa Congress and owns an entertainment company and heads a promotion team in South Florida for Latin clubs.
Mari has opened multiple locations and developed dance studios for other owners as well. Today she is one of the owners of Hotspot Dance studio and Top Notch Entertainment. She is an entrepreneur with a huge drive for success. She has used her passion for dance as a tool to help others enjoy their hobby or helped dancers achieve a new level of success dancing.
